I have been chosen as the first-place winner for the Keep It Short & Simple writing contest! Although I had announced my achievement back in March 2021, I never shared my journey. As the first contest hosted by The Write Contest and Community, it challenged its contestants to write a story in only TWELVE WORDS!

It howled and screamed as it scratched at our exposed faces—reopening blistering wounds that had veined across our cheeks.
